Some items needed for ministry.

Hey great to hear from you all . Just a quick update , today my wife and I and a couple of others ( Jose,Luis from DR. , and Marco- A visitor from Mexico) ) went to that dump, we actually just got back a 1/2 hr ago.

We ministered to the people there, men ,women and children. We gave them a cup of hot soup and some water. We were able to share the love of Christ with approx 40 people.

We saw the effect that we were able to have by orderly providing a basic meal to them ,gave us a door of opportunity to share the gospel with them.

We discussed a few things with each other that might be very effective for the ministry. So these are few needs for the feeding ministry and discipleship ministry/Church.

They are as follows:

1. A megaphone/bullhorn.- To communicate to more people without having to shout...

2. Large stock pots – for more soup.

3. Good , silicone oven mitts- Dishing out the hot soup often burns my hands.

4. Lg. Bags of soup stock/mixes.

5. Small individually packaged cookies or cakes.

6. Tupperware/rubbermaid containers

7. Coleman water coolers lg orange type

8. Coolers – kind for picnics

9. Bags of rice,beans,barley

10. Styro-foam cups,bowls.

11. Plastic forks,spoons,knives

12.Flip flops for men and women or sneakers(tennis shoes)

13. Folding plastic tables

14. Table clothes- cloth

15. Communion cups (small), trays for communion.

16. School and art supplies; binders,construction paper,paints,clay,pencils,notebooks.

This list is to give you some ideas , and options on what's needed, we of course appreciate anything that you can give ......

Please be sure to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Kindest regards, and many blessing's to you.

Great things deserve to be told! At least Once!

Just Where did you say you were??
Well, we made the official commitment to stay in the Dominican Republic. We anticipate more and more opportunities to minister will come our way. It had occurred to me that perhaps some were unsure where the Dominican Republic was , so here is a basic map showing the location in the Caribbean . Sosua is on the North East Peninsula of the island.

 New doors opening:
We are excited that God has already opened doors. This past week we began working in a local city garbage dump , feeding men, women and children approx 90-100 people are there , but we have only been able to feed 35-40 of those . These people are receiving a cup of cold water and cup of hot soup 2 to 3 times per week. With the majority of these people being Haitian, they pick through the garbage each day to find enough to feed/clothe themselves or families.  Some may find some valuable scrap metals or glass bottles which they can redeem for money, but most just are fortunate enough to find enough to exist from day to day...As we give  them the soup we have an opportunity to look in there eyes and proclaim "Jesus Te Ama" , or "Jezi renmen ou" which is Jesus Loves You in Spanish and Creole.  They are so grateful to get that hot , soup and cold water. We are so blessed to be part of this.. Then in the evening another member of the ministry team goes into the village where the majority of these people live , who stay in the dump all day. There a small truck is set up in a safe central location and a gospel movie is shown with a movie projector onto a big screen. The gospel is shared , and invitations are given for those who want to receive Christ as savoir, or need prayer for anything.  Our goal is to have enough soup each week to feed all 100 people x 3 times per week. So we ask that you join us in praying for this need to be met.
The size and smells in this dump are almost unbelievable, But Gods doing a work here....

Other areas of involvement:
We continue to stay involved in some other exciting projects . Kim and I are involved in the foundational/leadership team of  Ocean Side Christian Fellowship , Sosua , DR. An exciting non-denominational,spirit filled church of  less than  3 months of age  with more than  80 + attendees on Sunday. Kim teaches Sunday school & prepares communion every week . I am involved with most aspects of the church in some way .The folks that attend this church are from several countries like :USA,Canada,Bolivia,Germany,Russia,Britain, Haiti and Dominican Republic. All speak English ,as well as, there native languages. Our desire is to help share the gospel with these folks so that they can ,in turn, take it to their countrymen and share it.

Bible School :
I ( Chris), remain involved weekly with the Bible School course teaching for Dominican Nationals at Bible school in Sosua El Batey. A new opportunity is in the works for another school to be opening in the Sosua Abajo area in March...This is exciting as this means that more Dominican nationals will be taught the Word of God and will be able to spread the Gospel to others in their country. I am excited to see a mighty move of God in this nation !

Healings and Miracles:
One very exciting piece of news reported earlier in the month in a Facebook post is that of a student's mother from the Bible school receiving her healing. This elderly woman, who is a mother of brother John's from school was healed from a damaged heart. Her doctor has told her that she has a new heart after previously sending her home to die. After John and I prayed the prayer of faith over her we left it with God. The following week John returned with news " Brother Chris , I have a new mother, she has a brand new heart" We praise God for this miracle.....!!! These among others are just some of the amazing stories we have heard of Gods miracle power.

Upcoming news and events:
March ,holds many new events for us personally as well as ministerially. In March, I have been asked to speak one night at a church conference for a large Haitian church in Sosua. This is exciting news as the fires of revival are sweeping through out the Haitian communities. For us, as ministers we anticipate God to show up and we fully expect for miracles to occur as His people come believing in Faith for God to speak into their lives and to answer their prayers. For many people in the Dominican the Haitians are viewed negatively , they are harassed by law enforcement , they are discriminated against on a daily basis, but God loves them all the same . So please be praying for a mighty move of God during  this time, and for lives to be changed.
On March 24-April 7, we will be traveling to Tulsa/BA to close the lease on our apartment and to store our personal belongings. We had originally budgeted for myself to return only to do this, but my wife and kids would also like to return with me for that 2 week period to move our things and to say a proper farewell to friends and church family in the Broken Arrow / Tulsa area and Rhema Bible Church.
So we are believing God for all the finances to make that trip and stay the 2 weeks......

Sarchfield Family Events and news:
This Valentines day was celebrated once again with my sweetheart Kim...love you.
My Wife's Dad, Jim and Cindi were here in January for a one week visit which we really all enjoyed.
Gracyn is involved in drama at church and an art class at Sosua Ocean Village every Tuesday.
Caleb is now involved with learning the skills of boxing at the gym.The children are happy so this is confirmation again that we are doing God's will for our lives!
Keaton.
And a special shout out to our son Keaton who is going to be 17 yrs old on Feb 26th....where has the time gone.???

Prayer requests:
We ask for your prayer requests to be sent to us as  we want to take your needs also before God on your behalf . Without your love and support we could not do what we do. So we pray a special blessing over you and your family and believe that God will meet every need , in every area of your life as you trust Him , according to Phil 4:13.

But we ask for you:

Please in your personal time of prayer, pray for the following:
- Financial partners to share the vision with us for the work here in the Dominican Republic.
- Russian speaking  community, that God would move mightily in the North Coast with the Russians. There are several hundred Russians here who need a relationship with God and a Russian speaking pastor to lead them.
- Prosperity in businesses , so that Godly business leaders could employ and disciple Dominicans .
- Bible Schools to be successful  as the word is taught.
- For a  Revival here and in North America.
- For a reliable vehicle to own here, as renting has been very expensive.
- For the finances for the church, for the feeding program, for our personal living expenses to be met .
- For the discipleship class ( that we are holding in our home) . Funding for this course.
- For those trapped in prostitution.
- Education funding for our children.

Blessings to you from all of us in Sosua , Dominican Republic.

In Dominican Republic Newsletter January 2013

The Journey .

From Canada to Oklahoma USA, to Sosua Dominican Republic. Our journey really began in 2006, when we first visited DR. We felt a stirring in our hearts then to return someday to bring the gospel to the people of DR. But before we could return we needed to be trained to complete the task God was giving us. This is when in Feb 2009 we decided to leave jobs, comforts of family and friends and go to Tulsa , ( more specifically Broken Arrow), Oklahoma , to follow our dream to attend Rhema Bible Training College. A college of great distinction in the area of training, equipping and preparing men and women for full time ministry. This school was founded on the principles of faith and leading of God by Bro. Kenneth E Hagin / Pastor Kenneth W Hagin. The College still today operates with  the mandate given to Bro Hagin years ago to " Go teach my people Faith".
